If you're not having any luck with the job search, improve your resume and cover letter.
I'm not saying make stuff up, but there are probably ways you can present yourself better. I sent out about 10 and got no responces. I reworked it on Monday and got an interview from the first place I sent it to.

ADHD meds are awesome!
I was able to read 10 pages in the book I'm reading in 15 minutes and remember everything that was discussed in those pages! Not a big deal to most people, but this is kind of a big accomplishment for me.

I, also, am apparently awesome!
I got a friend request from DJ Fallen. Not, I sent him a friend request and then I saw my friend count go up, I actually got a request from him! I didn't realize I was so cool : )

There is a god.
If you watched The Office this week, you know what I'm talking about.

Tennessee is going crazy with the anti-smoking laws.
I already thought they were going over board with only allowing smoking in 21+ venues, but now I hear if you bring more than 2 packs of out of state cigarettes over the border it's a misdemenor. At least 10 and it's a felony! Something about tax avasion. That's just moronic!

Your heritage is revealed by your choice of beverage.
Yesterday, I saw a man of Irish decent drinking Guiness, Paul raved about Fire Water, and I discovered a love for Tequilla.

I am apparently a weird combination of Paul's high school sweet heart, Tish, and his last ex, Mystie.
I realized that after almost 3 years of dating him. He realized it after about 3 months. You might think I'm creeped out by this, but no. It only makes sense that people in a person's dating history would have some overlapping personality traits. Besides, I think Tish is adorable and everyone thinks me and Mystie would have been best friends if it hadn't been for Paul.

Waffle House is the reason I gained all the weight back after Kelly's wedding.
It's all the empty sugar calories in the massive amounts of coffee I drink while I'm hanging out there, not to mention the food. I had thought this was a possibility, but had no proof until I lost 2 pounds in a week and my only change was not being at Waffle House everyday.

Paul's mom has resorted to hedge magic so we produce grandchildren.
She said that she got hair from the two of us, twisted it together and buried it under a bush so that we would have twins. With the way she teases us I'm pretty sure she's joking, but I wouldn't really put it past her. Yes, I know, they're crazy, but I love Paul's family!

I'm planning on wearing my hair in two knots on top of my head and yes the bra is supposed to show.

What do you think? Do I need a necklace? Something on the shirt? Should I have Paul write "Tattoo goes here" on the part of my back the shows? I want your input! And if you think it looks stupid make sure to tell me that too, I don't want to look like an idiot. Thanks!

p.s.
And is the shirt to tight? It's just whipstiched together in the back so I can make it looser.

As I'm sure you are all aware I am currently in a state of limbo when it comes to my school/work/career situation. I need a job, but don't have one. I want to go to school, but I don't know what to study. Well, as of about 15 min. ago, that's all about to change.

Over the past few months I've been searching for ways to fill my time while I should have been looking for a job. I've taken two watching design shows of various types on the Style and Food Networks and thinking about how cool some of the stuff is. While watching Ace of Cakes I was thinking about how the designs didn't look that hard, just time consuming and realizing that I could probably recreate them if I just had the right tools.

Then I started thinking about the projects I've taken on recently: Gavin's and Paul's birthday presents, a lot of baking, various drawings, tattoo designs and clothes alterations I'm coming up with and I realized that I really enjoy this creative-crafty stuff. This was my epiphany. My way out of my rutt and a decision on what I want to do. I want to be creative how I want with what I want and get paid for it. Basically, I want to be Stephen Brown. If you are unfamiliar with his work, go to www.glitterville.com or to http://www.wbir.com/video/news/features/glitterville.aspx to see his segments from Style on WBIR.

Here's my thought, set up cameras in the kitchen and a craft room that I would set up and record myself doing these things. Surely someone online would pay to watch it, right? OK, so maybe not, but I think I could at least find some way to make this "creative for creativity's sake" thing work out. Clearly this idea is in it's early stages, but I can figure something out.

If nothing else I've got a direction. : )

It's before noon on a Sunday and I'm doing laundry. While neither of these things are unusual in and of themselves, something I am doing at the same time is odd. I'm watching the Republican presidential debate on ABC. The primary I'm registered to vote in is the Democratic one so I havn't paid much attention to the Republican candidates unless they wind up on the Report for the Colbert bump. There have been a few things that caught my attention though.

I like what Ron Paul has to say. I think he would be an ineffective president because he doesn't have the presence that one needs for the job. I do think he would make an excellent advisor for whoever does get elected, I'm just confused as to why he's running as a Republican. Then there's Gulliani and his standard terrorism talk and the obligitory "get out of Iraq? Don't you remember 9/11" coming from all sides to attack the few people that realize they wern't related, but one thing that really got me...

There was a candidate who I didn't catch the name of who had some pretty strong views. One of which being that we need to take drastic steps when it comes to muslim terrorists. This candidate, despite what the US State Dept. has said about this particular idea, he stands by his comment that in order to get these people in line we should threaten to bomb Mecca. Yes. You read that right. And from the look on his face, he seemed to think that it was a better idea than just a threat.

Granted, I am just a regular American citizain. I have been out of the country several times, but I in no way claim to be the expert in foreign policy that someone running to be president should be. However, it seems to me that if we're trying to make peace with radical terrorism groups we shouldn't go bombing their most holy of sites. Not to mention how many more peaceful, loving muslims there are around the world than their are extremists. Islam is the most popular religion in the world right now, do we really want that on us? And the muslims that live inside the US, there would be riots in the streets!

If for some weird twist of fate this guy ever winds up in the Oval Office I will move to Canada. I'm not even kidding about that. I think I could deal with a nation of hockey fanatics and hot RCMP officers over this guy and the resulting destruction of the US any day!

It was as if she knew she had been bad and she was waiting to be punished. This was the first time this has ever happened with her. If a pattern develops I'll take her to get checked out.

*I went to WaHo by myself for the first time. Hope was supposed to be there, but I couldn't get a hold of her. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I actually kind of had a good time, it let me think, get to know the servers and my tattoo design evolved again. It was cool.

*As I was driving back into town I misread a billboard for a local restaurant so I thought it was advertizing for Beowulf's instead of Burchfield's. I think I would prefer eating at the former.

*Apparently Iraq has wond the Asian soccer cup.
Bear Strolls Through Knoxville, Tenn.
By Associated Press
Tue May 29, 5:03 PM

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Police cornered a rather unusual suspect in Knoxville's entertainment district early Tuesday _ a 130-pound black bear.

Officials from the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency were called in to tranquilize the bear in an alley near the Old City historical district, a hub for shops, restaurants and nightclubs.

The bear was spotted Monday night near the University of Tennessee but eluded police by climbing over a fence. Officials believe the same bear again escaped their grasp after turning up in a rail yard.

Bears commonly are seen in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, about 25 miles away from Knoxville, but are rarely seen in the city.

The bear was released in the Cherokee National Forest in southeastern Tennessee.

Copyright 2007 The Associated Press.
Thoughts on Pirates 3. Contains NO Pirates 3 spoilers.

There is however a spoiler for Pirates 2, if for some reason you havn't seen that one.

I have to say that Pirates 3 kicked the ass of Pirates 2! It's not really a secret that I didn't like the second one much, I thought it was slow and tried too hard to be ther first movie. However, the 3rd had a plot that I was actually able to follow and didn't have random moments of moving like trying to run through setting concrete. And it wasn't predictable, which kicked ass!

There were two things that I really liked about it, though. First being that it ended the way I wanted it to. I feel that it was the best ending for the way the movie progressed. That's all I will say about the ending.

Here's that Pirates 2 spoiler:
I also really liked that Elizabeth actually said that she kissed Jack in the 2nd movie in order to trap him on the ship so that the rest of the party could get away. I can't tell you how many arguements I've gotten in over that! People would always come back with "But the compass was pointing to Jack meaning that Elizabeth wanted to be with him." NO. Trust me, nothing would have made me happier if she had decided to be with Jack instead of Will, I don't like Will! However, the compass pointed to Jack because she needed to use him in order to save Will. So now that's clear and all you people that argued with me about it can SUCK IT!!!

A Phantom update.

Phantom seems to be getting along just fine now : ) Her appetite has gone back down and it's already apparent that she's gained more weight: She's not nearly as skinny as she was when she got home on Sunday night, her face has filled out some and you can't feel her bones like you could before. Phantom is also back to exploring the house and isn't as insistant on my constant attention. This last one is really nice.

There's been no concrete evidence that the presents left in the litterbox are from her though. I think there are more than on a typical day when she wasn't here, butr it would be really nice to see her in the litterbox doing more than just digging around... you know what I mean. I figured it might take a couple days so I havn't been too worried, but I may take her to the vet if it doens't pick up today. I"d hate for her to have picked up a parasite or something.

PHANTOM'S HOME!!!!

When I got back from Waffel House I went to the bathroom and closed the door. I then heard some yowling that didn't seem to be from Elle. I got out of the bathroom as soon as possible and saw Elle in front of the door with the distinct yowl of a cat behind it. I opened the door and found a very freaked out Phantom! I grabbed her and brought her inside, imediately calling Paul to tell him the good news!

She's thinner, as is to be expected. When I first brought her to the food dish she was obviously ravenous and ate more furiously than I had ever seen her eat. She took breaks every few seconds to look over her shoulder at every little noise she may or may not have heard. She obviously delt with a lot while she was gone, especially with it having stormed so badly about 4 of the 11 days she wsa missing.

She and Elle are better around each other than they were when she first got it. Like I said, she was freaked out and didn't want Elle near her, I think she had some issues with some of the other neighborhood cats. They are closer than they were, though, and they aren't fighting or hissing like earlier. I'm still going to spend the night in the living room, though, so I can love on Phantom and be here in case any more fighting goes on.

I'm also going to call the vet tomorrow and inquire about bringing Phantom in. I"m guessing it'll be a good idea to get her checked out and make sure she's ok. She's up on all of her shots so that shouldn't be a problem, but I still want to make sure there isn't anything else to worry about.

As for now, Phantom is sitting on the chair next to me, grooming herself and wathing Elle. She seems like she hasn't really had a lot of time to rest over the past week and a half. She seems happy to be back and I know I"m happy to have her here. : )

First off, for those of you who havn't heard, Kurt Vonnegut died last night at the age of 84. Though I can't say I remember reading any of his work, I can still respect him for the contributions he made to modern literature and philosophy. My experience with Vonnegut is limited to his appearance on The Daily Show a while ago and I loved him for what he said. So just take a minute to remember him. He will most certainly be missed.
_____________________________________

This is the final version of something I wrote for my English class. I had to take 4 authors we've studied this semester and have them argue about something literary. The people who read version 1.0 seem to have liked it, even without knowing about the authors or works mentioned, hopfully my idiot teacher will enjoy it as well. I don't remember how to do cuts so I appoligize for the length. If someone would be so kind as to give me the code for it I'll re-edit this post so it won't take up so much space. Enjoy!

Four of the world’s most famous authors are driving down the interstate in a small, 1980’s Volvo sedan. It’s summer. The outside of the car is filthy and obviously hasn’t been cleaned since before the spring’s pollen. Dozens of fast food wrappers and empty soda bottles are all over the floor. Anton Chekhov is sitting behind the driver reading a copy of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. (Franz finds and eats a discarded, half eaten cheeseburger)
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt 81pt; On the contrary, this is an excellent way of remembering the remarkable events that have happened to me in my life. It’s like a journal.
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt 81pt; He even reads his own self-inflating bullsh-

ROUSSEAU I read your book once. Do you also remember “I dispose of Nature in its entirety as its lord and master” (435)? You even illustrate your “mastery” of nature by claiming that hitting a tree with a rock means that you’re not going to hell.
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt 81pt; The fates decided whether or not I hit the tree. It was they who chose to prove I was saved from damnation by guiding the rock to the center of it.
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt 81pt; I think this is getting a little heated.
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt 81pt; (mocking) Unless it was the fates that caused you to choose that tree. You say that you’re only writing the truth, but then your entire work is self-aggrandizing! This is why it’s dangerous to put yourself into your work; it never comes out honest.

ROUSSEAU Excuse me? The only way one can write with effectively is put themselves into their writing!

CHEKHOV (yelling) Guys! (suddenly calm again) Just chill a second. Both of you need to take a couple deep breaths and calm down. While I do agree that you need to keep neutral when presenting a character, I don’t think it’s possible to write without putting some of yourself into your work.

ROUSSEAU And what of yourself has been put into your work? It’s hard to believe that such depressing plays could show the personality of a man that has spent this entire car ride laughing out loud at book which is known for how funny it is.
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt 81pt; My plays are comedies. Just look at The Cherry Orchard. In the first act Gayev and Pishchik go on and on about how a book case has “served the glorious ideals of goodness and justice” and how successful it is for “sustaining, through successive generations” (1305). How can you not tell that’s funny?
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt 81pt; Yeah, that’s what I call a laugh riot.

CHEKHOV It may be set when the family is losing the orchard, but that doesn’t mean that there can’t be humor. Humor is how people get through hard times. It would be unrealistic for the characters to not joke around in a situation like that. That humor is where my personality is.

FLAUBERT And what about Madame Bovary? Did you not write that as a cautionary tale of what could happen to a woman if she followed her impulses without thinking about the repercussions?

FLAUBERT Oh, come now. Don’t you remember that everything bad that happens to Emma and her husband is a direct result of her continuing affairs?

The characters may not be direct reflections of you, but your personal opinion was definitely represented in what happened in the novel.
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt 81pt; Trying to make yourself look better to the reader is another. You gave yourself a godlike status. I was trying to teach people what Emma learned only during her suicide; that immoral behavior only leads to regret. Though she had taken arsenic, when she was reminded of her betrayals she felt “as though another, stronger, poison had risen to her mouth and filled her with revulsion” (1044).

ROUSSEAU Fine, but I’m not the only person that thinks one should put themselves into their writing. Say something, Franz. You’re the master of this concept. (Kafka covers his head with the coat, Rousseau sighs) In The Metamorphosis Gregor is quite obviously suffering from… what do they call it now? Clinical depression? He drew completely into himself. Does that seem familiar at all? (points to Kafka in the back seat)

CHEKHOV You’ve got a good point.

FLAUBERT Hardly. The Metamorphosis is a story about a guy that turns into a cockroach. That could never happen. How could Franz have possibly put himself in that character?

ROUSSEAU The cockroach is a metaphor, you twit! Turning into an insect represents Franz’s own self-loathing. That’s why Gregor is so isolated.

FLAUBERT That would mean that Franz is isolated and that clearly isn’t so. He’s in the car with us right now. (Kafka pulls the coat down some)

CHEKHOV But he’s trying to be as far away from us as possible. That’s probably why he’s covering himself with that thick coat despite the heat.

KAFKA (somewhat timid) The coat keeps me safe from my surroundings. Like how the exoskeleton of the cockroach kept Gregor isolated from the world. (eats hamburger wrapper)

ROUSSEAU (looks in the mirror) Speaking of the heat, are we near the diner yet? My hair is getting worse by the second.

KAFKA “When the doors had been locked, everybody had wanted to come in; but now that he had opened one door… nobody came, and the keys were on the other side” (1651). (covers himself with the coat again)

FLAUBERT (ignores him) This is the off ramp, thank God. I need a break, especially from you, JJ.

ROUSSEAU Don’t call me JJ!

OK, so whoever posted that comment on my journal hasn't responded and no one has come forward with any information about it. It kind of bugs me that someone would do something like this without giving any explaination, but that's the way some things go. If they meant to make me insecure about my relationship it didn't work. If they meant for me to break up with Paul it didn't work. Whatever it was I guess it's over. *shrug*

Onward!

I just got a really odd comment on my last journal entry that seems to be warning me about Paul. It references one of his old girlfriends which makes me wonder if she found this page, but I have no proof of this and I'm not about to try and contact her about this like some jealous girlfriend.

I really would like some light shed on this though, so if you have any information about it please respond to this. I am turning on the comment screening option so it won't be visible to anyone but me. Hopefully, this will encourage whoever left that to post something else and to explain why they left it.

Again, please post something explaining this. I'm rather confused about this and would like to know why it was left.
